Buru

Buru (also known in Hungarian as Borrev) is a locality in Cluj County, Transylvania, Romania, about 20 kilometers west of Turda.

The village of Buru is strategically located at the intersection of important roads that cross the Apuseni Mountains: to the north towards the Iara Valley and Cluj-Napoca, to the east to Turda, to the south to Aiud, and to the west to Baia de Arieș - Câmpeni - Abrud.

On the Turda-Abrud road, between the villages of Moldovenești and Buru, there used to be a highly attractive tourist spot known as "Colțul Fetei" (in Hungarian, Leanykö). This spot was marked by a narrowing of the road, surrounded by high and spectacular cliffs (see photo and engraving). Due to frequent road accidents in this area, the Arieș-facing part of Colțul Fetei was blasted in the 1950s, and the road was widened.
