Mărișel is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Cluj County, Transylvania, Romania. The commune is located on a high plateau at an altitude of 1150-1250 m.
The relief has gently undulating surfaces and rounded peaks, but in the north and south there are also deep valleys with steep slopes, with rapids and miniature dams. Mărișel is bordered to the south by the Măguri-Răcătău commune (the border being the Răcătăului Gorge also known as the Zamolxe Kingdom), to the north by the Râșca commune, to the east by the Gilău commune, and to the west by the Beliș commune.
It is a rural settlement where households are scattered along valleys and roads and on gentle hilltops, like in hilly areas. The highest landforms are Dealul Fântânele (1,341 m), Dealul Copcei (1,289 m) and Dealul Arsuri (1,238 m).
