Rișca is a commune in Cluj County, Transylvania, Romania, consisting of the villages of Dealu Mare, Lăpuștești, Mărcești and Rișca.
According to the census carried out in 2011, the population of Râșca commune amounts to 1,446 inhabitants, down from the previous census of 2002, when 1,814 inhabitants were registered. Most of the inhabitants are Romanian (96.4%). For 3.46% of the population, ethnicity is unknown. From a religious point of view, the majority of the inhabitants are Orthodox (92.12%), with a minority of Pentecostals (4.36%). For 3.46% of the population, the religious affiliation is unknown.
Râșca commune is located in Cluj County, located on the left bank of the Someș River, in the western part of the county. Known as one of the most extensive rural areas in Romania, Râșca commune includes five villages (Râșca, which in turn is divided into Râșca de Sus, Râșca Onicesti and Râșca Ples, Dealu Mare, Lapuștești, Cristesti and Mărcești), characterized by the specific Romanian mountain villages, with significant distances between them and households with generous land. The Fântânele Resort, an important tourist attraction for the Cluj region, also falls within the administrative sphere of the commune.
